Democrats organized an event in the House chamber commemorating the Jan.6 riot in the Capitol. Two republicans also attended: Liz Cheney, and her father, Dick Cheney, the former vice president.
Ms. Cheney – who regularly speaks against former President Trump – was removed from her post for speaking against Trump. She has already taken center stage in Jan.6 Inquiry. Ms. Cheney and her father were warmly greeted by Democrats, though her father had a bad history with Democrats.
Some Republicans just issued statements and most remained silent at about the Jan. 6 riots. They were not present at the commemorative events. Ms. Cheney is facing tremendous opposition within Republican Party.
