In 2009, while still in the United States, Mark Wiens started his blog and YouTube channel. However, his culinary adventures took off when he moved to Bangkok, Thailand, with his friend Dwight Turner. Together, they explored the rich tapestry of Thai cuisine and shared their experiences on YouTube and the blog Migrationology.com.
Mark’s love for Southeast Asian food grew immensely during his travels there. He narrated, “I traveled throughout South Asia, both with a friend and on my own, for the next six months as much as I could and literally loving every bite of food I could fit in my belly.“
Later, Mark was joined by his Kenyan friend, Joel. Although teaching English initially provided stability, it soon became apparent that it wasn’t his true calling. Instead, Mark’s heart was set on sharing his food adventures with the world.
Following the end of his teaching contract, Mark shifted his focus to creating online content. He used the money he earned to continue traveling and produce engaging content for his blog and YouTube channel.
